In your mind what are the primary reasons (from concepts discussed) physician communications might disappoint? Do you have a sense that physician specialty and communication skills have a relationship? In other words - do some specialties - like primary care have stronger communication skills vs other specialties - like surgeons? What is your impression of the communications skills of nurse practitioners vs. physicians? Why might there be a difference in the communication skills between caregiver categories?
