Discussion Post: Intervention & Ethical Decision-Making
Spiritual care is about taking care of the person's "reason for living". I believe that the spirit is what connects us with God, and it needs to be taken care of so that a person can heal and be whole. I believe that we are made up of 3 parts, the physical body, the mind, and the spirit. All 3 parts need to be taken care of for a person to stay healthy and thrive. According to Nasser (2016), many people believe that spiritual care is a person's religious beliefs, but this is not true. It is important to understand what their spiritual beliefs are to be able to provide for them the way that they need. It is their foundation and what they have built their whole life system around.
What is your definition of spiritual care? How does it differ or accord with the description given in the topic readings? Explain.
