Problem
Graffiti that is attributed to Banksy (for which he has taken credit). Provide the URL that leads to your image, and the title. Then, in three developed paragraphs, discuss all of the following (one task per paragraph):
A. What is your chosen image depicting? Explain how Banksy is addressing a social or political issue in this work of graffiti.
B. Describe the visual style, aesthetic choices, and iconography that Banksy has used in your chosen image. Explain how Banksy uses humour or wit to attract the audience's attention.
C. Why is Banksy considered a "street artist" as opposed to a "vandal?"
D. Where is this work of graffiti today? Is it in its original location, or has it been removed for sale or display? If so, do you think that is appropriate, or should the image remain where the artist intended? Can you relate this transfer (or the possibility of this transfer) of public art to the private sphere to the tension between public and private graffiti?
