What is the way of acquiring rights over a territory
The way of acquiring rights over a territory is adjudication. It is a process in which the States consult an international forum; and the dispute is resolved by an arbitrator who is chosen with the consent of the states party to it. The decision of an arbitrator is known as an "award" andis considered to be binding on the States. Adjudication is considered to be a sub species of accession, since treaty is required for adjudication as compared to accession in which the treaty is formulated.
