The first exam will be in class on Thursday, October 26th. It will consist of two essay questions (each worth 50%). I will pass out the exams, so there is no need to bring blue books. The exam will have sufficient space to answer the questions, but you must keep your answers confined to the exam sheets and be relatively succinct. The questions will be selected from the following:

3. Compare and contrast The history of European and African migration to the United States. What are the similarities and differences between their experience:.?
4. Describe and analyze Samuel Iluntington's arguments in "The Hispanic Challenge." Do you agree or disagree with him?
5. How have NAFTA and CAFTA affected international migration?
6. Drawing on our readsigs and class discussions, analyze the political cartoon below. What does is say about Current immigration politics in the United States?
