You are a senior member of a major fast food chain's Management Division. The CEO has asked you to do an analysis of the company's price and cost competitiveness. She would like you to outline the company's value chain and indicate key areas of that value chain that should be examined in order to measure the competitiveness of the company's cost/prices. In your analysis, reference the following points:
1. What is the purpose of value chain analysis? Why would the CEO ask us to do such an analysis?
2. Identify the company's primary and secondary value chain activities
3. Identify those value chain activities that you believe to be the most important (in priority order) to the company's price and cost competitiveness. Explain your selection and priorities
4. Which activities should be benchmarked? Why? How would you benchmark them?
