Reflection Papers/ Article Review-HAP 412N Spring 2017
You will write a four to five page article review of an article pertaining to Healthcare Information Systems in a career or issue or area of interest that you have. If you are going into clinic management then look for something in that area (hospital administration, insurance, supply chain management, EMT) any area that you have an interest.
Topic Area: You can select any topic within the scope of Healthcare Information Systems that focuses on the positive impact Healthcare IS has had or the negative impact healthcare IS has had on that career area. Try to keep your topic narrow and focus the paper.
I. Provide a brief synopsis of the article. Is the article about the positive impact of IS or negative. What is the article about? How does it pertain to HIS.
II. Once the synopsis of the article is complete, provide some analysis into the content and purpose of the article.
In the paper develop an answer around each of these questions:
What is the purpose of the article and explain what the author wants us to know or do? What key examples or concepts from healthcare IS does the article explore? Explain.
Who is the intended audience? Is it technicians or generalists? Explain. Is the article supported with reliable, relevant and valid sources? Explain Is the article believable/applicable, does it makes sense? Explain.
How will you apply this article to your HAP career and or direction?
Reflect on this article and what impact does the information have on a healthcare organization:
This first paper should be no more than four to five pages in length. Write the paper at a college level with a clear format/flow to the paper construction. The reader should be able to clearly determine an introduction (with purpose, preview), body development and conclusion to your paper. Follow all standard grammar and syntax rules.

4. Reflection: Was the level of reflection highly detailed, moderately detailed, very little detail.
