What is the premises and what is the conclusion.

Newton was an abstract thinker because all scientists are abstract thinkers and Newton certainly was a scientist.

The Republicans believe that making the rich richer will result in prosperity "trickling down" to the poor. But the opposite has happened: the poor have only gotten poorer as wealth has increased for the wealthy. The trickle down theory therefore has not worked.

Not all people die. Some do, but others live on in the memory of those who loved them and in the effect they had on people's lives. If someone's influence and caring persist through the ages, then the person has achieved immortality and the only kind of immortality that count.

Most people think that those described as "poor" in the United States are pretty well off by world standards. One study, however, found that twelve million Americans suffered from an acute hunger comparable to that found in poorer nations. In Philadelphia alone an investigator found "tens of thousands" of men, women, and children "desperate for food." Another study found that 50 percent of children from the poorest families grow up with impaired learning ability, while 5 percent are born mentally retarded because of prenatal malnourishment.

Black family income is only 55 percent of white family income. Unemployment hits racial minorities hardest since they are often last hired and first fired.   Furthermore, black and other minority workers are overwhelmingly clustered in low-paying, low-prestige, dead-end work. Clearly, the evidence points to a pattern of discrimination.
