Find an article in the NEWSPAPER about a conflict in a Third World country. Then write a 500 word response (IN YOUR OWN WORDS) answering the following questions:
1. What is the nature of the conflict? (Describe the problem that is mentioned in the article.)
2. What social institution(s) do the conflict revolve around? (Political, economical, cultural, religious, education, family, etc.) Some of you may find that the conflict revolves around more than one social institution so try to be very specific and provide a lot of details to your explanation.
3. Historical Background: How did this conflict come about or why did this conflict occur?
This is where you do a little research and try to determine what historical event(s)/factor(s) caused this conflict.
You should have a minimum of 3 sources. Online newspaper article count. Wikipedia.org is NOT a valid source. Neither are YAHOO. answers, google searches, blogs, etc. Use scholarly sources or other newspaper articles to answer this question. Failure to do so will result in a lower mark in your CONTENT portion of your assignment.
