Discussion Post: Gender
We start school (education as an institution) at an early age and it is one of the main ways in which we are socialized into gender roles.
• What is the most pervasive influence of education? How is education raced, classed, sexed, gendered, and ability centric? Provide historical examples from the book.
• How many women of color, queer scholars, or indigenous voices did you read when you were in elementary, middle, or high school? Taking what the book said into account, analyze what this means in terms of the communication of power/hierarchy.
The response must include a reference list. Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
