Problem: During the school age years academic demands require students to use their language skills to listen, speak, read and write; what is the importance of each modality (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in the academic setting. Which language skills in each of the five language domains (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics) are needed and how they are used in the activities of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
