Is it possible for us to step outside our ordinary perception of the world? Can consciousness be explained purely in terms of the physical brain, or is it more complex? Will science ever be able to explain the nature of consciousness?
These are the questions we will explore in our exploration of mystical experiences in this lesson.

Answer the following questions in a paragraph of at least 100 words.
1. What does Shrader define as the seven characteristics of mystical experiences?
2. What is the Hard Problem of Consciousness? Do you think that consciousness is created by the brain? Do you think that consciousness could exist separate from the brain? Why or why not?
