Topic: United States Computer Laws
For this assignment you will post your answers to the questions in each thread prior to 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday at 11:59 pm. It is strongly advised that you do not wait until Sunday to post your answers. You are required to respond to at least two of your classmates post by 11:59. 1. What is the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) of 1986? Please use outside resources to assist with your answer.
2. Research the United States v. Councilman Case. Why was this case important to the history of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act?
3. Research a recent case of identity theft. Please explain the case in detail. Also, be sure to provide the outcome. Do you agree with the ruling?
4. Find recent laws dealing with identity theft in your state of residence. If you could improve the law in one way what would you change or do differently?

The assignment must be a minimum of 2-full pages in length with a minimum of 3-outside sources. Please be sure to follow APA guidelines for citing and referencing source. Assignments are due by 11:55 pm Eastern time on Sunday.
1. Research Newport Pennsylvania Sexting Case. Do you believe that minors under the age of 18 should be classified as an adult for sexting?
2. Research sexting laws. In 2011, a new law that is supposed to take effect will require any person, including a juvenile, age 10 or over, who is found guilty of sending to pornography to register as a sex offender for a minimum of 15 years. What is your opinion on this potential law. What affects could this type of punishment have on our youth. Find a recent case on sexting to support your answer.
