• What personal characteristics help make a person exert more influence over others? Do you have these personal characteristics, or do you need to develop them more fully?
• What is the difference between persuasion and coercion? What ethical persuasion techniques can you use so not to coerce people? Give examples of times you have used these ethical persuasion techniques.
• Find some type of message online that is intended to persuade. This could be an advertisement, a press release, a type of news story, etc. Just make sure it is appropriate to share in class. Post a link to the message and explain how the characteristics of the message assist in persuading the reader. Also explain what other persuasive characteristics could have been used in the message that you find.
• Imagine that you are trying to get someone or a group of people to take some specific action. What proven strategies from this topic's readings would you use to get the desired reaction to your request? Why would you use the strategies you recommend?
The response should include a reference list. Using double-space, Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
