Discussion Post: Careers in Selling and Sales Management Leadership
Overview
In this discussion, we will consider the characteristics of a strong sales manager and examine the difference between leadership and management.
Task
Part I: Salespeople do not always make the best sales managers. Describe why you think you would be a better salesperson or sales manager. Feel free to give examples, if you have been in either role and the difference between each experience.
Part II: What is the difference between leadership and management? ?What are the two main leadership qualities displayed by the most successful sales managers? ? Give a personal example of a sales manager you have worked with or an educator/leader.
The response should include a reference list. Using one-inch margins, Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space and APA style of writing and citations.
