One short written examination of a cultural practice - ASA referencing if you need to reference
In this paper you are asked to reflect on the parts of a cultural practice (from whatever culture you consider to be your own) - make sure to use terms and considerations discussed in class
This is a three part exercise - you may use headings for each part
Part One
- what is the cultural practice that you have identified?
- describe what happens in your cultural practice from an etic perspective
Part Two
- reflect on the mode of production
- how would you classify your mode of production?
- give evidence as to why you are saying this
- how does your cultural practice reinforce your mode of production?
Part Three - reflect on how your cultural practice reinforces the structure of your culture
- What kinship practices or stratification does this reinforce?
