a) This week focus on Global Human Resources. We discussed unconscious biases frequently throughout this course. Watch the Bias Documentary Sizzle video and think about global companies. Domestically, embracing our unconscious biases is challenging, but how important is it for a global company? The video talks about -- instead of hiring for a cultural fit, hire for a cultural contribution. What does this mean? What is the value of a diverse set of opinions for global companies?
b) Watch the video by Dave Ulrich (focus on 5:10-10:10 of the podcast) below about how he defines HR. Ulrich's approach asks "what is the business issue that a company is dealing with" and THEN, HR brings the resources to help the business accomplish the issue. What are your thoughts?
