Problem
A 0.5kg ball hangs from a string from the rear view mirror of a car. At one point the car and ball accelerate forward together so that the ball/string hangs backward with an angle of 25 degrees with the vertical. the acceleration is constant, so the angle is constant. (think about the forces on the ball).
1. What is the acceleration of the ball/car?
2. Is it possible to accelerate with a large enough magnitude (constant) so that the angle would reach 90 degrees and be maintained at that 90 degrees? why or why not?
