What is socrates argument for the immortality of the soul

Problem

To better understand the Socrates we find in Plato's later dialogues, and who seems to hold some positions that are contrary to the Skeptical Socrates of the Apology, answer the following questions:

1. Based on the Phaedo, did Socrates think that everyone should welcome death, or only philosophers? Explain why or why not.

2. What is Socrates' argument for the immortality of the soul and why did he need the soul to be immortal?

3. Based on the Republic, what object does Plato use to describe the Good. How does Socrates explain the journey from complete ignorance to complete knowledge. That is, explain the four steps of the divided line and how each one gets us closer to real knowledge.
