Question 1: Calculate the equilibrium potential for K+ (Ek) if its extracellular concentration rises from 5mM to 10mM. Comparing this to the normal Ek, is the change a depolarization or hyperpolarization?
Question 2: Calculate the equilibrium potential for Cl-. Given your answer, should Cl- enter or leave the cell if the plasma membrane suddenly becomes permeable to it (given a membrane potential of -70 mV)?
