This week, we will take a closer look at the various levels of permission involved in e-mail marketing and the evolution of e-mail marketing from spam to customer engagement. Complete the following assignment:
• Please read the Sun Sentinel article titled Hollywood Firm Accused of Obamacare Spam and answer the following questions:
• What is meant by permission marketing?
• The firm described in the article is accused of using deceptive practices to entice consumers to purchase insurance.
• Have you received emails like these?
• What actions, if any, have you taken to limit the permissions of the sender?
• Why or why not?
• In your chapter reading, you learned about the CAN-SPAM law.
• From your perspective, is the CAN-SPAM law working?
• Why or why not?
