Response to EACH question must be a minimum of 225 words:
1. Give at least three examples of major zoonotic and/or vector-borne diseases. Explain how each disease can be transmitted, including discussion around the host, reservoir, and contributing environmental factors. Make sure to also explain the significance each disease has on public health and any known control measures.
2. Discuss at least three factors that have contributed to the development of emerging and re-emerging infections. Include in your answer an example of at least one emerging disease and an example of at least one re-emerging disease. Please make sure to discuss their current impact on public health.
3. Discuss current methods used to control vector-borne and zoonotic diseases. Please make sure to explain where in the transmission cycle the control efforts are being focused and if such measures are effective in protecting public health.
4. Discuss what is meant by arboviral encephalitides? Describe the reservoirs and modes of transmission this group of diseases has in relation to humans. Please make sure to support your answer with examples and discuss the disease burden they have on humans worldwide.
