The Dix article is an empirical study that tries to show the impact of TV ads on kids and shows that TV ads for junk foods have a real impact. Also related to branding and marketing are fast food chains like Taco Bell. The article, from a news source, notes that, among other things, "free trade and growing migration have made U.S. brands ubiquitous in Mexico, influencing everything from how people dress to how they talk" Finally, my article, which I wrote for the Sage Encyclopedia of Food Issues explores the use of the internet for food advertising and promotion, something that has been accelerating.
