Homework: Depletion of Water

Type a half-page response on your opinion of the video. In addition to this half-page opinion piece, include answers to the following questions. Don't forget to include both your opinion on the video and answers to the three questions below.
• California has experienced exceptional drought for the last few years, yet when you visit the state you'll see many, many acres of food crops. How is this possible? Where does most of the water used for irrigation in California come from?
• What is GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment) telling us about water around the world?
• An increasing number of people are moving to the arid southwestern U.S., even though water supplies are already being overdrawn. If you were governor of one of the states in this region, what policies would you advocate to address this situation? Please give a five to six sentence response to this question, and be sure to go into some detail on your proposed policies.
