Assignment task: In 2020, almost 75% of Norway's new cars sales were plug-in electric vehicles, by far the world leader. And in the US only 2.3% of new car sales were EVs? Why such a big difference?
What's different about the US and Norway--the law/policies, economics, social/cultural issues, facts like geography or other factors? What will it take to get US numbers like this?
Note that subsidies always have impacts beyond the specific product that they are targeting. Are there any positive or negative unintended consequences of these subsidies that we must also address?
