Discussion: "Social Media and the Workplace"
1. When a candidate for a job sends a resume to a business, one of the first actions taken by HR is to check the candidate's social media. There, in the candidate's social media, HR professionals look for reasons not to interview or hire the candidate. Employers also occasionally check the social media of their employees to make sure the employees are not sharing corporate secrets or disparaging the corporation and its leaders. How do you feel about this common practice? Should the government stop this?
