Problem
A. What is a border? A borderlands? A contact zone? Find a quote from any of the texts that helps you understand these concepts or shed new light.
B. When thinking about the US-Mexican border, some experiences that characterize it include bilingualism, historical shifting of the political border after the Treaty 4 Guadalupe-Hidalgo (1848), exploitation of factory workers (maquiladoras), and femicides. What is another border, borderland, and/or contact zone that exists outside of the US-Mexico or US-Latin American border? What characterizes that experience?
