Discussion:
Client Rapport , Trust in counseling
Building rapport is a vital skill for all counselors to master. It is a skill that can be practiced and applied in any context involving more than one person. Think about an experience you have had in developing rapport with another person (for example, a client, student, fellow worker, supervisor).
Questions:
1. What interpersonal skills did you apply that facilitated the development of rapport in the relationship?
2. Describe the influence of applying these skills and any challenges that may have affected the development of rapport.
3. If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently?
