Problem
In Activity: Leadership Learning Journey in your textbook, you will find Table 11-1 (page 111) Values Motivation.
I. Motivation is what incentivizes you toward action. When you are lying in bed in the morning, what inspires you to get up: getting something done (accomplishment), seeing your children (relationships), something else? Your values are often a product of your core motivation. From Table 11-1 list your top 10 values to help you identify what motivates you. Does this line up with your motivation? What else motivates you?
Circles of Life (page 112)
Purpose: To identify current state and future priorities.
We all have multiple competing priorities in our lives. Sometimes it is helpful to take stock of where we are spending our time and compare this to how we ideally would like to spend our time. For this exercise, list the categories of activities that are important to you. Examples: work, entertainment, exercise, family time, education, spiritual time, etc.
II. Using a table similar to the one in Activity: Leadership Learning Journey, list your categories in one column, how much time you spend doing this in the second column, and your ideal percentage of time spent doing these activities in the third column.
