What influence policy through access to the electoral system

Problem:

"Interest groups can influence policy through access to the electoral system," which raises concerns to me about the Electoral College. The selection of a state's electors may be even more crucial than the presidential vote. If an elector prioritizes personal interests over their state's, they could be vulnerable to electoral fraud if given enough incentive." Of course, politicians are known to be the most "virtuous and honest" representatives with no mal-intent ever being recorded in relation to voting sanctity, especially from the  Nixon, Trump, or Biden administrations. Nothing to worry about, right?
