"A measuring device that is unreliable cannot be valid". (Polit and Beck, 2012, p. 336). Analyze this statement and why a tool can be reliable but not valid. Give examples. Why is it important that reliability and validity information be documented in a study? What is the impact of having unreliable or invalid data collection tools?
