Problem: If you have $1 million dollars, and want to affect politics, what can you NOT do with that money? Donate all the money to your friend who is running for president. All of these actions are prohibited under campaign finance regulations. None of these actions are prohibited under campaign finance regulations. Form an independent organization that tries to get your friend elected (without coordinating with them) and donate all the money to that organization. Run for president and spend all the money on your campaign.
