Problem: Dawn Powers is a 72-year-old female presenting to your office today with complaints of abdominal pain. She reports that she has been having abdominal pain for about 1 week, but it seems to have been worsening over the past 24 hours. She states that the pain is generalized but does seem as if it is localized more to her lower quadrant. She usually has a bowel movement every day but has noticed some intermittent diarrhea the past few weeks. She has not seen any blood in her stools as far as she can tell but states that she has "ripe cataracts" so she isn't 100% sure on that.
