Problem: A 61 year old Caucasian female with diagnosed with Young onset Alzheimer's Dementia. She has been admitted to Broomfield Hospital due to violent and aggressive behaviour towards the care home residents and staff. She had pulled a door from the hinge and was difficult to manage, She remains distressed and agitated on the ward, she is responding to unseen stimuli stating and shouting at them to go away, she is intrusive and verbally aggressive towards the ward staff. These episodes are very frequent and require IM medication. She is on psychotropic medications the dose of which is being titrated however it is not effective. She is a risk to herself and others. She is unable to engage in a meaningful conversation due to the distress, she cannot retain any information She lacks capacity and has no insight.
