Problem
New hire orientation is an important human resource management practice. Take a few minutes and consider the orientation that you received at your last job. Give some information about the orientation process. Was the orientation formal or informal? Did you learn about the organization or just your work unit? What was helpful to you? What else would have been helpful to learn or do during the orientation? If you have not held a job, think about a job you might be qualified to apply for now. Make some notes about what you think you would need to learn during the orientation for that job. Next, create a list of your top-recommended orientation program "dos and don'ts" for companies.
