Through Fahmy's story, we will learn about the turmoil and risk associated with reporting in some regions of the world. Al-Jazeera, literally means "The Island," and is a Doha-based state funded broadcaster. It was initially an Arabic news and current affairs satellite TV channel, and has since expanded into a network with several outlets, including the Internet and specialty TV channels in a number of languages.
