Penelope is 51 year old biracial female. She has a history of psychiatric symptoms dating back to when she was 19 years old (1989) when she experienced beliefs that she could fly. When she was 21 years old (1991), she began experiencing symptoms including erratic behavior, insomnia, flight of ideas, grandiosity, and impulsivity/recklessness. A year later (1992), she was involuntarily hospitalized after she drove from Colorado to New Mexico "on a whim" to "follow an eagle or something" and while speeding, swerved off the road. In 1998, she experienced delusions and perceptual disturbances alongside her other symptoms, including believing that she was president and/or running for office, believing that the radio was giving her special messages, and hearing voices. Penelope reported multiple psychiatric hospitalizations in a county general hospital between the ages of 31 to 33 (2001-2003) due to the severity of her symptoms. Penelope has also been placed on temporary LPS
