What does this say about our society

Problem

We have learned that the six dimensions of wellness work in conjunction with each other. Although there are potentially physiological consequences to being obese the social consequences of being obese are rarely addressed. Many individuals have claimed that a weight bias exists and have experienced many barriers related to their obesity? Is there a stigma attached to being overweight? What examples can you think of that supports this bias? Why do you think this exists? What does this say about our society? How does this bias impact the other dimensions of health and wellness? Is this more detrimental than the physiological obesity?
