Assignment: David Walker's Appeal Primary Source Analysis
Read David Walker's book "Appeal" and compose a 4-5 page (double-spaced) analysis of the text. In your paper you should: identify the author and the context (time, place) where they lived and the circumstances of their life, explain the major details of the sections read/covered, explain what insights related to their identity they offer. How did the author Walker understand themselves in the context of American slavery? What does their first-person perspective reveal about race in the United States during the period of slavery?
