In Hawthorne's "Young Goodman Brown," protagonist struggles to understand (or doesn't work hard enough to understand, but assumes things about) his wife. explain how the speaker or main character describes/explains his wife to the reader, and what each wife seems to symbolize. What happens to each wife in the story, and why? What does the message about her role seem to be at the end?
