What does the fact situation in the Misericordia case tell you about the hospital as a whole? The Misericordia case (Showalter pp. 221 - 222 and 233 - 237) was widely publicized at the time it was decided (1981). In view of the egregious set of facts as reported in the decision (Showalter, pp. 221 - 222), it is hard to see how the court could have decided the case other than as it did. What do these fact tell you about the hospital (number of beds, size of medical staff, etc.)?
