viii. Before analysis, have a clear, evocative, denotative description that allows the reader to visualize the work so as to understand better the analysis that follows
ix. Locate the work in its art historical context or in comparison to the artist's other work
x. Critical evaluation of the artwork (reasoned judgement of artwork not mere opinion)
xi. State what you believe to be the artist's goal in making this piece or to what degree they have been successful
