1) The Isenheim Altarpiece is a gruesome depiction of the agony Jesus experienced on the cross. It is intended to convey Christ's solidarity with the suffering.
2) The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is built over sites full of spiritual significance. How does this emphasis on the spiritual significance of a particular place help to understand the theological significance of the Incarnation? And the soteriological significance of Jesus's death?
3) What do you think the music of Good Friday intends to convey? How does this music aid one's contemplation of the significance of the death of Jesus?
