Problem
Much of IR theory takes the natural sciences as its model and seeks to derive law-like statements about the nature of international politics based on empirical evidence. What do critical theorists make of these claims? Give some concrete examples of how Post Structuralists or critical theorists would critique ("deconstruct") the claims of Realism or Liberalism. What do you think about the possibility of a science of international relations ("positivist" approach to IR theory)?
