Think about a place today or in your past that you would call "your favorite place." Write a brief description in which you describe this place as vividly as possible. Begin with an opening sentence that tells us what you are going to describe, such as "My favorite place is a beach in Mexico." Then after your topic sentence, write at least four sentences that describe details about the place. Use strong verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. Try to use one interjection.
After you post your descriptive paragraph, respond to one other student's description. Can you imagine yourself in the scene described? Why or why not? What do you like best about the description? Point to any verbs or adjectives that seem to do a good job of helping you experience the "favorite place."
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
