Problem: A 21-year old woman contacts the police at 0900 hours and states that she went to a party last evening and when she got up this morning, says that "she just doesn't feel right." She continues to state that it was odd that although she is wearing the same clothes that she went to the party in and went to sleep in, there is a small rip in her underwear that she does not remember seeing before.
What do you do to determine if a crime has occurred? If you determine that a crime has been committed, was she raped and what is your course of action to investigate?
