Psychology Case Study
Mark is a 30-year-old man who has come to you for treatment. He seems despondent, has clearly not been practicing good hygiene lately, and has likely not changed clothes in a couple of weeks. As you speak with him, you find out that he is usually an avid hiker and photographer, but has not found the energy to participate in these hobbies lately. He has been calling in sick at work a lot, and has not been seeing his friends. When you question him about his feelings, he uses the words "sad" and "hopeless".
1. What (if any) disorder do you think Mark may be experiencing, and why?
2. Which of the 4 Ds do you think apply? (It's okay to give more than one)
3. What additional information would you like to ask Mark for in order to better assess his condition? How would this information help?
