Assignment task: Sheila Verself is a project manager for a software company. She supervises a team of five programmers and a graphic designer in creating a new banking app for college students. The app allows for banks that don't have features such check depositing by photo to have that feature just by connecting to the app. In addition, the app has a fun financial wizard feature that provides financial advice by monitoring you past spending habits, current balances, upcoming expenses, etc. The app even has a "throwin' shade" option that makes snarky comments to the user if you ignore the sound financial advice provided by the app. The key features in the app were suggested by Sheila, but she had no idea how to make them happen - that's where her team stepped up, made the vision come to life, and took it a little farther. The project team was recently notified they had won the 2020 Financial App of the Year award by Money magazine, and Sheila was invited to attend the awards ceremony on behalf of the team.
The ceremony was live streamed back to the software company where a party was underway. When Sheila stepped to the podium, she thanked the judges and Money magazine, she thanked her supervisors for trusting her with the project, and then talked for three minutes about how much work she had put in on this app and telling the audience that "dreams do come true if you work hard" before leaving the stage to applause. Meanwhile, everyone watching the awards ceremony at her company also applauded - except the members of her team. Some sat blankly staring as Sheila carried the award back to her seat, waving to the camera, while another muttered an obscenity as he left the room
