Your client, Cecelia, is a 29-year-old African-American female married to her same-sex partner. She presents with symptoms of depression, stating she has cried daily, feels sad "all of the time," has trouble sleeping at night, and is overeating. She spends much of her time "thinking and worrying" and her main thoughts center around being a good mother and wife. She thinks her depression worsened after the birth of her third child ten months ago. She denies suicidal behavior and ideations. She acknowledges that her feelings of sadness are affecting her relationship with her partner and children, and she does not want to participate in family events. She is unable to work at this time, which puts a strain on the family financially. She reports general unhappiness with who she is and thinks she is "wrecking my life."
