Self-Assessment Letter
Included in yourPortfolio, alongside a graded copy of your Annotated Bibliography and Research Paper should be a FORMAL letter, from you (Student) to me (Professor). This letter should assess your (student) progress throughout the semester as a writer. Here are some suggestions:
"What did you do well?"
"What could still be improved?"
"What would you do differently next time?"
"Are you pleased with your writing skills?"
"What did you learn about yourself as a writer?"
"How will you continue to improve your skills as a writer?"
"What was the most difficult assignment to write and why?"
We will NOT be working on these in class, nor a revision. This assignment will be done independently.
This should not plea or suggest a grade, but rather prove that hard work and revision are obvious in the final papers. Do not bullshit me. I have better things to do than read "I tried very hard. I am happy with my Research Paper. I was confused."
I am seeking a critical view of collegiate papers. Show GROWTH as an academic writer and college student. Discussing the challenges presented through course material is a good start. Refer to the student examples. They are used as an example for good reason.
